Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the LogosAI browser extension and related services ("Service"), provided by LogosAI ("we", "us", or "our"). The Service is designed to offer real-time fact-checking, bias detection, sentiment analysis, gap identification, and balanced source suggestions for online news content. By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms, which form a legally binding agreement between you and us. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the Service. We operate in compliance with applicable UK and EU laws, including consumer protection regulations. These terms were last updated on 5 November 2025.
2. Description of the Service
The Service is an AI-powered tool that scans news articles and similar content in real-time, highlighting potential biases, manipulative framing, omitted facts, and AI-generated elements. The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use to help users navigate digital misinformation effectively.
3. Eligibility and User Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service. No user account is required for basic functionality, but if you request a demo, sign up for updates, or access future premium features, you may need to provide contact details like an email address. In such cases, you agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if we believe you are in violation of these terms or applicable laws.
4. Use of the Service
You may use the Service for lawful purposes only, in accordance with these terms and all relevant laws, including those in the UK and EU regarding data protection and consumer rights. The extension processes content from websites you visit, such as URLs and text excerpts, solely to generate insights—no full browsing history or personalised data is stored. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to access and analyse this content for the purpose of providing the Service. You agree not to: (a) modify, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service; (b) use it to spread misinformation or for illegal activities; (c) overload our systems or attempt unauthorised access; or (d) remove any proprietary notices. We may update the Service automatically to improve features or address issues, and you consent to such updates.
5. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in the Service, including its software, algorithms, designs, and any content we generate (such as summaries or analyses), belong to us or our licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws in the UK, EU, and internationally. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal purposes. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent. User-generated feedback or suggestions become our property, and we may use them without compensation.
6. Third-Party Services and Content
The Service integrates with third-party providers like Hugging Face for natural language processing and Google Gemini for AI insights, as well as external fact-checking sources. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or content of these third parties. When you follow suggested links to balanced sources or other media, you do so at your own risk—we do not endorse or control external sites. Any interactions with third-party services are governed by their own terms.
7. Disclaimers and Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. While we strive for high-quality analysis using advanced AI, results may not be error-free, and we do not guarantee that insights will always detect misinformation or biases correctly. Under UK and EU consumer laws, certain implied terms may apply, but to the extent permitted, we disclaim all other warranties. You use the Service at your own risk, and we are not liable for any decisions based on our analyses.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, including under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and equivalent EU directives, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months (if any). This includes losses from data inaccuracies, service interruptions, or third-party actions. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or other matters where exclusion is prohibited by law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these terms, or infringement of third-party rights. We reserve the right to assume control of any defence, at your expense.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for conduct we believe violates these terms or harms our operations. Upon termination, your licence to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions that by nature should survive (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limitations) will continue.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales. For EU users, you may also have rights under your local consumer protection laws, including access to online dispute resolution platforms like the European Commission's ODR portal.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, or our practices. Updated terms will be posted on our website (logosai.online) with the new effective date. We will notify users of material changes via the extension or email where feasible. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with revisions, you must stop using the Service.
13. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these terms is found invalid, the remainder shall remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive it. These terms represent the entire agreement between you and us, superseding prior understandings. We may assign these terms without your consent in the event of a merger or acquisition.
14. Contact Us
If you have questions about this policy or our data practices, please reach out to us via the contact form on our website. Our Data Protection Officer is available to address any concerns promptly. We are dedicated to transparency and will respond to all enquiries in accordance with UK and EU data protection laws.
